1985 - 1987 Full-time teaching: chemistry to O-level, A-level and International Baccalaureate at Sevenoaks School in Kent. David was also a boarding-house tutor.

1988 - 2002 Extensive Supply Teaching (between jobs) covering everything from English, Maths and Science to Horticulture, Agriculture, Cookery and beyond..! David worked in all manner of schools from the excellent to the extremely challenging: rural, inner-city, independent, special needs, mixed, single-sex, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, international, large and small. Mostly these were Secondary, but in the last two years he also worked extensively in Primary and Junior schools. Of course, his One Man Shows link still take him regularly into many types of school nationwide.

1989 - 2000 Revision "Crammer" Courses in Physics, Chemistry and English. David designed and taught many such courses with great success for some of the major independent sixth-form colleges in Bristol and London, including Collingham, MPW and DLD. "I've done more in one day and learned more than I did in three years!" as one of his pupils exclaimed!

David has also worked extensively as a Private Tutor in Science, English and Maths.

Although he no longer works as a Supply Teacher, David still very much enjoys teaching. He is passionate about and loves helping people realise that, in particular, Science, Shakespeare and Maths (and other subjects) are so much more easy, fun and rewarding than they might suspect !

As an actor David has of course led, co-led, designed or co-designed many workshops in schools and colleges, both freelance and for companies such as the Cheltenham Everyman, the English Shakespeare Company and Trestle Theatre Company. These include general Shakespeare classes, Physical Theatre sessions and the tremendous Participative Storytelling of Beowulf.
